Rune Gade: Cyber Sex for real: Constructions of Sexual Identities on the Internet
The growth in visual communication technologies has significantly changed the possibilities for authorship within various visual regimes, including that of visual pornography. How has the availability of means of self expression affected the images being produced within visual pornography? What sexual identities are being performed on the Internet? My presentation will discuss constructions of gender and sexual identity through focusing on the problematic notion of ‘amateurism’ within historical as well as contemporary visual pornography.
